Living: Daydreaming

Some days were meant for simply daydreaming.
Today was one of those days.
Some days I tend to laze about, I take a long bath, do my hair and make-up and put on a pretty dress or something that makes me feel good, and simply enjoy the day that I've been blessed with.
I have this little window seat in my bedroom, it is just the right size for reading a good book, sipping coffee while bird watching, or simply gazing at the creation and meditating on everything wonderful and beautiful in the world.

I hope that you all are enjoying this day, however you choose to do so.
Until next time loves,

Shopping: The Perfect Sandal

I have been recently in search of the perfect sandal, for me price point is important, I mean who doesn't want the best deal? I myself am eternally searching for a better deal.
I don't think you can go wrong with the Zara sandals, they are so elegant, chic and beyond reasonable in their price.
Now, for a splurge? Occasionally there appears an item that is just so gorgeous that you can't help but consider that big ticket item.
I think that Zara sandals are essential to any chic wardrobe, nude and black are must-haves for sure.
The Madden and Asos are so gorgeous, and so well priced you could get them all!

Inspiration: Diane Von Furstenburg

The inimitable Diane Von Furstenburg.
I adore her so very much, she is beautiful, successful and brilliant.
The effortlessly chic, elegant and luxurious style that is wearable for any lady.
I have been on the search lately for vintage DVF, for my own collection as well as for the shop.
I adore Diane, she inspires me so much and many other ladies I am sure.
Especially love the image of her in her studio, circa 1970s.

What Brandy Wore: Dark Lady

A phantom cold front came through our city and I didn't mind one bit.
Pulled out some 5-inch boots and my fuzzy INC coat and the hubs and I set off ins earch of some special pieces for our place.
There is something about boots, not mater if they are 5" tall they are so stable that you can actually walk around and peruse shops for longer periods of time without being in serious pain and discomfort.
Got a busy weekend coming up, looking forward to this fabulous month of May that we are currently striding right into. My only plan this month is to accomplish a great deal, its a pivotal month you could say.
Not to mention, my anniversary month, 7 yrs on the 19th!
When I think about how genuinely bless I am, beyond compare in many ways, it literally brings tears to my eyes.
I hope you all are doing so well,
Until next time loves,

What Brandy Wore: Street Chic

This look is all about easy, wearable and chic. The adjectives which, I feel, should describe every wardrobe.
Fashion shouldn't be so difficult, complex or expensive that it is unwearable or unattainable for that matter.

It is important that ones finds what works for them, this is true for all areas of life.
This look was great for what I was doing, which was simply running errands.
As I get older the more I realize that fashion needs to be as perfect a balance as we can attain between the fashionable and the simple.
I have often wondered what is indeed 'my style'? I can't say that I have one as they are traditionally defined, but if pressed I would have to say that my style is 'polished'.
I love a variety of different aesthetics from varying eras, but what they all have in common is the fact that I like to look put-together, and as I say polished.

I do hope you are all having a wonderful week and enjoying life far too much,
Until next time loves,

What Brandy Wore: Aviators

Finally I am back to work after a much needed rest. Aaron and I have been on a mini-vacay which basically consisted of tons of rest, eating lots of healthy organic foods, and just generally preparing to go back to work full force and really kick 2013 into high gear.
I always find so much excitement in the early months of the year, all of the planning and goal setting really builds providing motivation and a little bit of anxiety because you sometimes wonder how am I going to achieve everything I want to achieve?
Well after this much needed rest it is now back to hard work, discipline and little sleep. But hey! That's all A-okay! Because we thrive when we are working hard to build and maintain our dream life.
It is just a basic reality that if one desires a quality life then one must reconcile themselves to the fact that acquiring a quality life requires a great deal of work.
But it's truly the best work one can do, knowing that you are building a good life for you and your family.
Presently our little family is mainly myself and my husband, but we are also building for our future family that God may bless us with.
This year is all about healthy and happy living, many trips to farmers markets, lots of long walks and plenty of water, sunshine and laughter.

Look of the day, modern, sorta' casual chic.
Let's talk about these cropped trousers, shall we? They are SO unbelievably comfy, they're Anne Klein that I snagged on sale for $18! So obsessed with them, expect to see them too much.

As usual, I do wish you all the best!
Until next time loves,

What Brandy Wore: Heart Shaped World

This look felt very 40's glamour girl to me. This emerald green top is so lush and gorgeous that I've been dying to wear it. I chose to wear it on the very last day of spring-like weather that we shall be enjoying for the next several months.sad face.
I feel as though I'm channeling Rita Hayworth in this ensemble, but I'm alays so curious to hear others perspective on my looks.
This past week and all the way up to Monday has been a blast and just whizzed by, we had too much fun with friends and family during the Spring Holy Days and must now transition back into work, work, work mode. Le sigh, at least I adore my work. However my classes not as much.
But I find that working hard helps us in many ways including enjoying the fun times in life all the more!
